FIELD: transport engineering; prestarting preparation of vehicles and their engine units; devices consuming heat at nonuniform reception or consumption of heat. SUBSTANCE: heat accumulator has heat insulated housing with inlet and outlet holes to which inlet and outlet pipes are connected, and capsules arranged in housing and filled up with heat accumulating compound changing its aggregate state within the limits of operating temperatures. Capsules with heat accumulating compound are arranged in frame in form of unit connected to one side of frame. Clearance is formed between unit and other side of frame to accommodate prestresses member compensating for unit expansion, for instance, conical spring. Clearance is guaranteed at all changes in unit size, with due account of dimensions of compensating member. Side surface of unit does not touch inner wall of housing. EFFECT: reduced load on heat accumulator fastening brackets, increased service life of heat accumulator. 1 dwg
