METHOD OF ASSESSING BASAL IMMUNOMODULATION IN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: immunology. SUBSTANCE: application of peloides is performed on immuno-competent animal organ region, whereupon animals are immunized with ram red cells on 14th experiment day. Animals are killed on 19th experiment day and determined are: levels of antibody-forming and E- rosette-forming cells in spleen, level of lysozyme in blood serum, and, additionally, number of thymus cells per 100 mg of its weight. Then, index of basal immunomodulation is calculated using following formula: index of basal immunomodulation = (content of antibody- forming cells x content of E-rosette-forming cells in spleen with ram red cells)/(number of thymus cells per 100 mg of its weight x concentration of lysozyme in blood serum). If this value exceeds 8.3, effect of peloides is regarded as basal immunomodulation. EFFECT: increased information content and accuracy. 1 tbl, 5 ex
