FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing laboratory animals like rats to ultrasonic radiation applied to thymus area during 2 weeks with ultrasound intensity of 0.05 W/square cm. Single exposure is 1-2 min long and the total number of treatments is equal to 6. The animals are subjected to immunization in intraperitoneal way with sheep erythrocytes at the fourteenth day. Spleen mass and antibodies-generating cell contents in it, cell concentration in the thymus and the thymus mass are determined at the nineteenth day. Then generalized immunomodulation index is calculated (GII) as product of antibodies-generating cell contents in the spleen and thymus cell level divided by product of thymus and spleen masses.GII being greater than 0.10, immunomodulating influence of physical factor is considered to be available. EFFECT: high accuracy in evaluating physical factor influence. 1 tbl
