METHOD OF MAKING RAISED PATTERN ON PIGSKIN FACE BY MEANS OF ELECTRICAL BURNING-OUT DEVICE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2128711 C1

FIELD: light industry, in particular, leather haberdashery, footwear industry, manufacture of street-clothes trimmings, and artistic crafts. SUBSTANCE: fat content is regulated by wetting the pigskin face and application in 10 min of shoe polish of required color. Then pattern is made on leather face with use of knife edge and stencil and produced line is burnt-out in direction opposite to pattern cutting, treated with shoe polish to preserve line elasticity and to fix the made pattern. Made on made pattern is slitting to depth of 0.1-0.2 mm and repeated burning out of pattern is performed in direction opposite to slitting. Again pattern is fixed by treatment with shoe polish and contrast parts of pattern are resolved with dash motions of needle of burning-out device to produce in this way difference in color and to produce space pattern. At the end of process, shoe polish is applied to finally fix the pattern and make it flexible. In the course of service, visual difference between burnt-out and intact parts of pattern is increased. Dark surface becomes darker and light surface becomes lighter and, in time, pattern becomes more contrast and raised. The method of making patterns on leather surface makes it possible to combine modern manufacture of leather articles with people traditions to pass the people art and, in particular, people crafts from the region of decorative-applied art to the region of manufacture of consumer goods with improved aesthetic and service properties. EFFECT: extended range of articles manufactured from pigskin, utilized pigskin with minor defects on its face surface, regulated content of fat in pigskin, and prolonged service life of articles with raised patterns and preserved marketable style. 5 dwg
