Abstract RU 2128863 C1

FIELD: computer engineering, in particular, for protection of users of personal computers and computer networks from harmful effect of static and alternating electric fields generated by computer displays with cathode-ray tubes. SUBSTANCE: device has protection shield which is designed as transparent plate which is mounted in frame and covered with transparent current-conducting grounded coating. In addition device has current-conducting grounded protection plate which area is at least 0.6 of area of upper display surface and is located above said upper display surface and is spaced from it by distance which is less than 50 mm. Protection shield and current-conducting protection plate may be attached to display independently and have separate grounding. They may also be connected by shared axis. Current-conducting protection plate is designed as either solid or perforated plate. It is made from, for example, aluminum or copper alloys. EFFECT: decreased level of electric fields which are generated by computer displays and have harmful effect for computer operator and near-by personnel. 5 cl, 3 dwg
