FIELD: high-voltage pulse engineering. SUBSTANCE: generator has grounded electrode forming stepped line short-circuited at input and made in the form of two series-connected sections of homogeneous lines with distributed parameters of equal electric length. High-voltage electrode placed inside second section of stepped line divides it into two homogeneous lines. Voltage supply and spark gap are inserted between high-voltage and grounded electrodes; spark gap is placed at point of connection of first and second stepped-line sections. Load is connected to grounded electrode leads. Connected between output of second stepped-line section and load is additional line section formed by extensions of grounded electrode leads of stepped line, its electric length being equal to that of stepped-line sections. Additional high- voltage electrodes placed inside additional and first sections divide each of sections into two homogeneous lines and are connected to high-voltage electrode of second stepped-line section. Equations for selecting wave impedances of these lines are given in description of invention. EFFECT: improved amplitude of symmetrical bipolar square pulse shaped across load and improved efficiency of this pulse. 1 dwg
