FIELD: transport vehicles, automatics. SUBSTANCE: wheel has bosses 1 with permanent magnets 2 arranged in them. Magnets 2 serve as source of multipole axial magnetic field. Double-side disc stator with windings 7 placed onto dents of powdered magnetic conduit 6 is mounted on bearing housings 3 at both sides of rotor. Transmitter and light sensor of optocoupler are placed on inner surface of housings 3. Optocoupler serves as detector of rotation sign and as rotation number pickup when apparatus operates in alternating current mode. In direct current operation mode optocoupler serves as rotor position pickup and as detector of rotation sign and polarity of poles. Wheel-motors according to invention may be used for realizing concept of hybrid motor vehicles without mechanical transmission, axle assemblies and differentials and also concept of electric car free from internal combustion engine and even free from steering column.
