FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for continuously treating alkaline and acidic drains from water-treating plants and steam generating units of heat-and-power stations. Method includes filling accumulation tanks with mentioned drains followed by simultaneously feeding drains into reactor mixer from tanks and adjusting consumption of one of the drains being neutralized. Once accumulation tanks filled, drains are stirred and maximum allowable uptake of drains is determined bearing in mind necessity for their complete neutralization. Further, drains from accumulation tanks are simultaneously fed into reactor mixer and therefrom into discharge line until one of the accumulation tanks is emptied. Feeding drains is then interrupted, one or two accumulation tanks are replenished, and drains are restirred cyclically and subsequent operations repeated. Invention is distinguished by that drains in reactor mixer are subjected to cavitation hydromechanical treatment. Installation contains two accumulation tanks, feeding pump, control panel, pH measuring instruments, drain-intake regulators on inlets and outlets of accumulation tanks, three mixture-consumption regulators, reactor mixer outlet provided with mixture-consumption regulator connected with accumulation tank inlets and discharge line.
