FIELD: manufacture of industrial rubber products. SUBSTANCE: method comprises adding monomer to water-containing hydrocarbon solvent, thermostating the resulting solution at temperatures between -8 C to -78 C, adding cobalt salt and alkylaluminium chloride solutions, raising mixture temperature to polymerization temperature (20-400 C). In this case, varied cobalt salt, water, alkylaluminium chloride concentrations and ratios thereof as well as monomer conversion degrees make it possible to synthesize linear and branched polymer without changing component composition of catalyst system. Cis-1,4 polybutadiene synthesized by claimed method is used in tire industry to prepare impact-resistant polystyrene for manufacturing industrial rubber products.
