FIELD: synthetic rubber industry, more particularly resulting polymer is used for manufacturing shock-resistant polystyrene, in tyre and industrial rubber industries. SUBSTANCE: process of polymerization of butadiene-1,3 is carried out in toluene at 20-40 C in catalyst system consisting of cobalt (II) compounds such as stearate, octoate, naphthenate, 2-ethylhexalate, acetyl acetonate in amount of 0.03-0.2 mole/l organoaluminium compound selected from diisobutylaluminium chloride, diethylaluminium chloride, isobutylaluminium sesquichloride, ethylaluminium sesquichloride at aluminium to cobalt molar ratio from 20 to 150, and water used in amount of 0.0008-0.003 wt.-% per solvent and catalyst system further comprises polyalumooxane of formula R2Al_[_OAl(R)-]-nOAlR2 wherein R is ethyl or isobutyl and n is, at least, 2 at polyalumooxane to cobalt compound molar ratio within 2 to 30. Process makes it possible to regulate molecular weight, and microstructure, reduce sharply the amount of butenetolyl by-product and simultaneously maintain high process rates.
