FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: method and device relate to fire-fighting technique. Method implies combined transportation in stream of inert gases for example combustion products and cooling agent drops into fire zone. Speed of transportation must be equal to not less than 3 Mach numbers. This will ensure flame-out at safety distance and cooling of fire zone down to temperature which is below ignition point of product outflowing from well. Device for realization of aforesaid method contains combustion chamber and Laval nozzle. Combustion chamber is made in the form of rocket engine combustion chamber with injectors for introduction of cooling agent. Injectors are located inside combustion chamber at side of nozzle beyond burning zone. In addition, installed inside combustion chamber is dividing membrane in the form of subsonic part of Laval nozzle. This membrane separates burning zone from injectors which deliver cooling agent. Application of supersonic jet for transportation of inert combustion products and drops of cooling agent to fire zone of gush ensures increase of fire suppressing jet range and efficiency of fire fighting.
