FIELD: mining industry. SUBSTANCE: according to method, separated in deposit are geological blocks. Upper and lower faces of blocks are simulated by two continuous and smoothed surfaces passing respectively through upper and lower boundary points of deposit and rock in areas of bore-holes with subsequent linearization of these faces in each block. This allows for approximation of configuration of roof and floor of deposit with sufficiently high accuracy. Amount of content of mineral in it is determined by weighing concentrations of mineral in samples taken in areas of bore-holes which are peaks of enclosed contour which is of minimal area and which embraces given block. After that, determined is amount of mineral contained in each block according to its volume and specific weight. Amount of mineral contained in deposit is determined as sum of its content in all blocks of deposit. Application of aforesaid method gives higher accuracy in determining amount of mineral contained in rock mass. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg, 3 tbl
