FIELD: nuclear power engineering and nuclear power industry; handling nuclear reactors of submarines, ships, and ice-breakers during their decommissioning. SUBSTANCE: coolant is proposed to be removed from pressurized-tube reactor before placing the latter in storage or before its transportation; in particular, reactor is proposed to be additionally dried out before being placed in storage, filled with noble inert gas, conveyed upon its removal from power plant together with core to storage adit, and stored in seaside or transport adit. In this way, reactor core is held under subcritical condition within its vessel. EFFECT: reduced corrosion probability of components within reactor vessel, improved in-storage collision protection of reactor with core including that in emergency condition. 9 cl
