FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves working product by end surface of grinding wheel, with rotational motion and longitudinal feed being transmitted to grinding wheel. Axis of rotation of grinding wheel is inclined relative to perpendicular directed to surface under grinding process toward side opposite to feeding direction. Grinding wheel is mounted so that its axis is offset relative to axis of symmetry of surface under grinding process. Longitudinal feeding rate is determined by formula: , where d(3) is diameter of grain, h(m) is depth of plastoelastic penetration of grains into material under grinding process, K = F(1)/F(2), V(per) is peripheral speed of grinding wheel, F(1) is grinding wheel and product contact area, provided axis of rotation of grinding wheel coincides with axis of symmetry of product, ε = 0, F(2) is grinding wheel and product contact area at ε differing from 0. EFFECT: improved wear resistance and increased efficiency of grinding wheel. 4 dwg
