FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method relates to depth peripheral grinding of materials. Blanks are ground by means of wheel positioned at an angle to plane perpendicular to axis rotation. The wheel is secured loosely on spindle with the aid of flexible corrugated member for longitudinal reciprocation. Reciprocating motions are formed under effect of cutting force longitudinal component which occurs alternately on wheel end faces when the latter run onto blank surface being worked. The method allows to reduce worked surface roughness in 1.5-2 times and to increase grinding wheel stability up to 3 times as compared with traditional grinding. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg, 1 ex
