FIELD: superhard materials. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to diamond- containing composites and can be applied when manufacturing abrasive tools. Blank of diamond-containing charge with 95-100% diamond crystals is formed and thermally treated under conditions providing graphitization of diamond to give intermediate product in which diamond concentration is lowered but not below 50%. Intermediate product is then impregnated with molten silicon.
