FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: selenium hexafluoride pollution control in production rooms is accomplished by preparing selenium compound through absorption of selenium hexafluoride from air by n-butyl alcohol saturated with potassium iodide followed by reextraction of selenium compound with water or 5% sodium chloride aqueous solution and photometric determination of selenium. EFFECT: simplified and accelerated analytical procedure.
