WHEELSET MACHINING CONTINUOUS ACTION GANTRY LATHE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; machining of wheels and wheelset brake disks of rail vehicles. SUBSTANCE: wheelset is fixed in two centers of quills mounted for movement in heads of lathe gantry body. Each head is provided with guides for longitudinal displacement of driven pressure unit of pair of rollers. Unit housing is furnished with levers of the first order installed on shafts for deflection upwards and downwards. Some arms of levers are connected with hydraulic cylinders through compensator. Hydraulic cylinders press rollers to wheels asymmetrically and with different forces. Shafts of rollers with rotation drives are secured on other arms of levers. Lathe has floor segments connected by hinge joint. One of segments is furnished with wheelset lift and hydraulic cylinder lifting floor to rail level and then pushing wheelset out of lathe zone. EFFECT: prevention of chips from getting into of contact of rollers with wheelset, provision of economy. 5 cl, 6 dwg
