TRAVERSE DRIVE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; gripping members of grabs or machine tool clamps; displacement of working members from one position into another. SUBSTANCE: proposed drive has cylindrical housing with upper and lower covers and two flexible diaphragms. The latter are installed in housing to form tight space with upper and lower working chambers. Chambers communicate through unions in covers with working agent supply system and stop member placed between diaphragms. Housing accommodates two horizontal shafts with trunnions in middle part. Shafts are symmetrically spaced relative to housing symmetry plane. Ends of shafts passed through housing are designed for connection with clamping or gripping members. Stop member is made in form of disk. Synchronizing unit made in form of pair of levers is provided. Levers are orientated counter to each other in plane of symmetry of disk parallel to output shafts. Levers are secured by some ends of housing by means of joints. Axes of joints lie in plane of shaft arrangement. Free ends of levers and trunnions are installed in linear guides made in stop disk body for reciprocating and turning in vertical plane. EFFECT: enlarged range of power action. 2 dwg
