FIELD: thermal engineering. SUBSTANCE: indirect-action plasmatron is introduced in lighting-up burner and air-formed plasma jet is injected concurrently with swirling jet of fuel-air mixture directly into boiler furnace. Plasma- forming gas and air flow regulators G and G1, respectively, are used to adjust flowrates of these components within the range of G = (0,02÷0,09)G1 per burner. Varying plasmatron arc current adjusts mean mass temperature of plasma between 2500 and 4000 K. Swirling gas stabilizing arc discharge is conveyed counter-currently to swirling fuel-air mixture. With once-through burners, arc discharge stabilization process is arbitrary. EFFECT: reduced oil consumption, improved flame stability and process efficiency. 2 cl, 1 dwg
