FIELD: adaptive optical systems. SUBSTANCE: phase modulator of wave front is designed for use in the capacity of actuating device in adaptive optical systems. Modulator makes it feasible to improve correction of wave front and to ensure time and temperature stability of controlled alternating deformation of mirror of phase modulator in wide frequency range, to enhance reliability and efficiency of adaptive optical systems in all ranges of optical radiation. It includes deformed mirror, base and motors. Motors are manufactured in the form of E-shaped monoceramic blocks formed by three multilayer electrostrictive converters made fast with butts to common support. Second butts of two extreme converters are made fast to base and butt of central one is mechanically coupled through holes made in base to deformed mirror by means of elastic member anchored on it Elastic member is fabricated from material of mirror. Controlling electrodes of extreme converters are electrically connected in parallel and insulated from controlling electrodes of central converter. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and efficiency of adaptive optical systems using proposed phase modulator in all ranges of optical radiation. 5 dwg
