FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: process includes coating cellular conducting backing with active material. Backing is made of carbon-carbide carbonized fabric; active material is deposited onto backing by thermal gas jet spraying on two sides upon degreasing the fabric; backing fabric has cellular weaving forming double-ended projections spaced 5-7 mm apart at height of 0.5-0.8 mm and cell size of (2 0.1) x (2 0.1) mm. Lead is sprayed onto backing. Used as spraying gas is oxidizing or reducing material depending on plate polarity. Plate blank is strip from which plates are cut upon coating it with active material. EFFECT: reduced lead input and size of storage cell, reduced inherent loss of storage cell. 4 cl, 3 dwg
