FIELD: welding by gas-shield consumable electrode. SUBSTANCE: length of arc gap is automatically controlled by changing parameters of welding current pulses in depending upon arc voltage. Power dosing for melting each next drop begins at time moment of drop breaking away. Method provides power dozing, namely for that drop. Time moment of drop breaking away is registered due to surge of arc voltage. EFFECT: enhanced controllability of electrode metal transfer, enhanced quality of welded seam. 1 dwg
