FIELD: mechanical engineering; automatic and semiautomatic impulse arc welding. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for welding with consumable electrode, solid-section flux cored wire with and without coating shielded by carbon dioxide and argon and different length of arc in spatial positions. Short-time impulses of welding current are applied to normally burning arc to tear off drop of molten metal of electrode and transfer it into welding pool. Current of normally burning arc is limited within 20 and 30 A for 1-3 ms at interval between impulses directly before each impulse. EFFECT: provision of reliable transfer of electric metal and reduced splashing of metal. 1 dwg
