FIELD: laser welding of metals with high heat conductivity, possibly in different industry branches. SUBSTANCE: welded parts are joined at melting them by means of focused laser beam moving relative to welded parts along welding line. Layer of additive material with less reflecting power and higher melting temperature is preliminarily applied on surfaces of welded metals symmetrically relative to welding line Thickness of applied layer is equal to h whose values are in range determined by expression h= dn/2h = dn/2÷dn, where dn-diameter of focused laser beam. Width of applied layer is equal to or more than width of zone of thermal influence upon surface of additive material. Laser beam is moved relative to welded parts according to predetermined program. Preliminarily applied additive material is in the form of belt cut out of sheet by means of laser beam moved according to the same program as laser beam at welding process.
