FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method of synthesis of alkoxyphenylacetic acid nitriles - syntons that are drugs of the general formula (I): where R3 is C1-C6-alkyl; R1 is OR3 or Y where R3 is C1-C6-alkyl; Y is C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy-group, hydrogen atom; R2 is OR3 or Z where Z is C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy-group, hydrogen atom. Method involves an alkylation of parent phenols, the following haloid methylation of the formed intermediate substances with a mixture of halide hydrogen acid or its salt with sulfuric acid or a mixture of halide hydrogen acid with its salt in the presence of absence of sulfuric acid, in the presence of an inert solvent and formaldehyde and the following cyanidation of haloidmethylated derivatives. The use of phenol esters as parent compounds is a variant of the method. EFFECT: simplified process, pure compounds, good yield. 5 cl, 1 tbl, 9 ex
