PRESSURE STABILIZER Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: removal of hydraulic impacts, pressure fluctuations and resonance conditions. SUBSTANCE: pressure stabilizer consists of central pipe line 1 connected with pressure main by means of flanges. Perforations 3 provided on central pipe line are distributed over is length perimeter. Damping chamber mounted coaxially relative to central pipe line 1 is formed by thin-walled flexible envelope 4 made from spring steel and sealed by packing rings 5. Inner cavity of flexible envelope 4 is brought in communication with pressure main be means of perforations 3 in central pipe line 1. Outer surface of flexible envelope 4 is embraced by spring 6 made in form of spiral-shaped cylinder from spring steel having elliptical cross-section. All above-mentioned structural members are enclosed in metal cylindrical casing 7. Space between surfaces of spring and casing 7 is filled with elastodamping material 8. To decrease bending stresses in case of strains, spring 6 may be made in form of single-layer coils 9 inserted one in other with overlap in area of smaller axis of elliptical section. EFFECT: reduced thickness of wall of flexible envelope, thus increasing volumetric compliance of pressure stabilizer when functioning at high working pressure within pressure fluctuation amplitudes; reduction of probability of break of flexible envelope; additional dissipation of energy of fluctuations due to friction of spring coils and relative to surface of flexible envelope and elastodamping filler; reduced bending stresses in tension; enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 3 dwg
