FIELD: medicine, in particular, medical control of individuals involved in sports and physical culture. SUBSTANCE: method involves registering omega-potential before doing exercises; counting omega-potential stabilizing time, intensity and expressiveness of superslow potential oscillations. When omega-potential stabilizing time is 60-180 s, at low-intensity of 1-2 mV and slightly expressed superslow oscillations of 10-20%, functional state of sportsman is considered optimum. When omega-potential stabilizing time is 240-480 s, intensity is within the range of 6-8 mV and expressiveness is within the range of 70-95%, functional state of sportsman is considered as overtrained. EFFECT: increased efficiency and provision for obtaining precise data on sportsman's functional state. 1 tbl, 4 ex
