FIELD: medicine; applicable in medical-pedagogical supervision of persons taking part in mountaineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes comparison of duration of Stange's test and variation of heart rate during this test, characteristics of spontaneous and induced dynamics of superslow physiologic processes in high mountain regions with background data determined on flatland. If obtained results correspond to duration of Stange's test of 65-90 s with increase of heart rate to its end by 1-6%, value of omega-potential of 25-45 mV with latency of 15-25 s and intensity of 5-10 mV, and said parameters are present in mountaineers, they are considered resistant to high hypoxia. If Stange's test value is reduced by 25% and more, and increase of heart rate at end of Stange's test amounts to 10% and more, and value of omega-potential is reduced by 10% and more, low resistance to hypoxia is stated and prolonged adaptation to factors of high mountain regions is prognosticated. EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination of resistance to hypoxia in mountaineers in selection of participants for mountaineering and prognostication of man's adaptation to conditions of highlands. 1 cl
