FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method includes preliminary preparation of projection front part by giving it slope, use of abrasive suspension in zone of tool lapping to block made of structural-sensitive and amorphous material, as well as use of cutting fluids which promote concentration of electric potentials arising during abrasive lapping. Method also includes supply of treatment zone with external resonating changes, 1.1-1.2 times higher than electric potentials arising in grinding. Final running-in of tool is performed with similar materials and in the same operating conditions which require use of intermittent grinding tool for mechanical treatment. Method allows formation of frontal zone profile of tool intermittent surface of definite macrogeometry within time which is 1/4-1/6 of time required for usual process.
