FIELD: bridge-building industry. SUBSTANCE: this relates to building of bridges and overpasses on motor roads and railways which are located on geological masses subjected to landsliding occurrences. Bridge abutment has supports installed on pile foundation and connected through abutment head-piece with span structure. Also provided is adapter plate which by its one end rests on upper wall of head-piece, and by its other end it rests through crushed-stone pad on nearest embankment. Bridge abutment is provided with counterlandslide structure which is combined with abutment and is made in the form of rows of piles located symmetrically relative to bridge axis. Piles are combined by frameworks which interact with head-piece of abutment through deformation-settling joints to impart counterlandsliding properties to abutment. Rows of piles together with frameworks are located symmetrically along bridge axis at both sides of abutment and they can be angled. Application of aforesaid embodiment of bridge abutment widens possibility of building bridges on geological masses pliable to landsliding. Cost of building is reduced due to less area of ground to be stabilized to dimensions needed for building purposes. Required reliability is also ensured. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 4 dwg
