SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to heat preserving device for water-cooled internal combustion engine and is designed for heating of engine prior to starting. Cylinder block has cooling system pump and cooling agent circulation bypass channels. heat preserving device has heat insulated storage tank designed for keeping heated cooling agent and device providing reciprocation of plunger mounted in tank and dividing the tank into two chambers connected with inlet and outlet holes of bypass channels of cylinder block cooling system, and pump used to transfer cooling agent from cylinder block bypass channels into storage tank. Two chambers in tank can be arranged communicating in flow through at least one valve provided in plunger displacement device. EFFECT: provision of heating of storage device by cooling agent when engine is operating. 4 cl, 3 dwg
