CAR SPEED CHANGING METHOD Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport; gravity humps. SUBSTANCE: method of changing speed of i-th cut (i=1, 2, 3 ...n) at accumulation of cars on track of definite direction comes to measuring speed of i-th cut on lower position on hump and subsequent deceleration or acceleration of cut. First deceleration of cut is carried out by force less than that required for stopping the cut, and speed of i-th cut is measured again. Simultaneously with measurement of speed, axles are counted. Then i-th cut is decelerated or accelerated by force found basing on measured speeds, number of axles of cuts which have passed to said direction accumulation track to i-th cut, force and direction of wind, rolling friction factor and length of retarder. This force provides speed required for stopping the cut in required place on accumulation track. EFFECT: improved accuracy of cut stopping. 5 dwg
