FIELD: lumber drying facilities. SUBSTANCE: drying unit has chamber with door, microwave oscillator, several transmitting and one receiving antennas, detector, indicator of microwave beams reflected from lumber pile, kinematic coupling of transmitting and receiving antennas. Transmitting antennas are mounted in holes of opposite vertical walls of chamber with their apertures inward so that their electrical shafts are at Brewster angle to pile surface being irradiated. Receiving antenna is installed on one of chamber walls that mounts transmitting antennas with its electrical shaft placed at same angle but at other polarity. Antennas have their beams horizontally polarized, their electrical shafts are in horizontal plane and mounted for rotation within (45-75) deg. relative to perpendicular to pile surface being irradiated. Transmitting antennas are arranged in rows on opposite vertical walls of chamber. Chamber upper wall has exhaust ventilation port and one of its vertical walls is provided with plenum ventilation port; both ports are covered with screen. Lower wall of chamber mounts carriage.
