Abstract RU 2139502 C1

FIELD: ultrasonic measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in measurement of horizontal speeds of flow at different depths with the aid of ultrasonic converters installed on both slopes of banks of bed and in computation of flow rate. There are used three converters placed at angle ϕ with respect to direction of water flow to determine average speed of flow. Distance between first and second converters is measured by measurement of difference of times of passage of ultrasonic pulses along and counter flow. Simultaneously time of passage of ultrasonic pulse emitted by first converter to second converter, time of passage of ultrasonic pulse emitted by third ultrasonic converter to second converter, time of passage of ultrasonic pulse emitted by second converter to third converter and time of passage of ultrasonic pulse emitted by second converter to first converter are measured. Then horizontal speed of flow is computed. Device for realization of method has pulse generator, receiving amplifier, pulse former, time interval meter, commutator and computing-controlling unit.
