FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying ultrasonic dopplerography of the penis in rest state. Blood circulation parameters, linear velocity of blood flow into systole and diastole, their ratio, mean blood circulation velocity, resistance and pulsation indices are determined. Artificial penis erection is stimulated with local negative pressure applied by means of compressing vacuum device having constriction ring. Erection maximum being achieved, local negative pressure is removed. Constriction ring is placed on the penis root and ultrasonic dopplerography is applied once more. The same values and blood circulation increment as percent difference in linear velocity of blood flow are to be determined. Blood flow rate increment being less than 50%, angiospasm arising in functional state is considered to be the case. Functional test with nitroglycerin is carried out in this case sublingually giving nitroglycerin to the patient. Ultrasonic dopplerography of the penis is applied once more. The same values are to be determined with blood circulation increment as percent difference in linear velocity of blood flow. Nitroglycerin test influence degree is interpreted to make conclusions concerning functional or organic nature of angiospasms. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of diagnosis.
