FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves performing presowing cultivation for seed depth; sowing seeds by passing seeding unit so as to define path between adjacent passes; sowing one row of marker culture in middle part of path to form trace marker for tractor units; when moisture content in cob seeds is within the range of 38-45%, acting upon corn stalks in stages by undercutting parts of epidermis, tissue annulus and parenchyma of fibrovascular bundles to provide drying of standing plant cobs. Apparatus has frame, suspension brackets and units for acting upon plant stalks, with number of units being equal to number of rows to be treated. Each unit has two blocks with pairs of disk-type knives positioned in stages and adapted for undercutting stalks to intensify seed drying process.
