FIELD: shut-off pipe fittings. SUBSTANCE: gate valve is intended for stopping of working medium flows in trunk pipelines. Gate valve has body with seats, gate connected with spindle, and sealing gland. Gate is made in the form of wedge truncated in plane of horizontal cross-section. Body is provided with additional device which brings motion to gate in direction of wedge. This device interacts with lower edge and/or side surface of gate. Aforesaid embodiment of gate valve ensures tightness of pair "seat-gate". EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 8 dwg
