FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: shutoff and control gate valve includes body with supply and discharge branch pipes with seats installed in them and with shutoff member, for example damper, which is arranged between them. Damper interacts at closing with bearing plate with shoulders, which is spring-loaded and installed in lower part of the housing; the above shoulders restrict the stroke of bearing plate at opening of the damper. Bearing plate is integral with working surface interacting with shutoff member; the above working surface is congruent to the surface of shutoff member. Besides, projected area of bearing plate in normal section to vertical axis of gate valve at equal width with shutoff member is at least 90% of similar projected area of the latter. Working surfaces of bearing plate and shutoff member are profiled.

EFFECT: higher operability and operating reliability of gate valve at operation with carried media having solid inclusions of various nature.
