SUBSTANCE: wedge gate valve comprises a hollow case with a flow part and mating connection points to be coupled with pipelines, a shutoff mechanism in the form of a gate which is able of vertical axial movement perpendicularly to the flow of the medium being blocked, and is installed inside the case between the mating seats set in the case on both sides of the gate in its flow part. T-shape groove is provided in the upper part of the gate. A bearing housing is placed on the case cover. The case and the case cover are interconnected by studs via a metal gasket. A rod is installed in the case cover and the bearing cover, one end of the rod is fitted by a T-shape protrusion to match the mating T-shape groove on the gate, and the other end is fitted by thread and a flywheel with a bush having bearing surfaces. The bush is equipped by the mating thread to be set on the rod. Sealing of the gate rod in the case cover is made mainly as a rubber fluoroplastic bush, the inner surface of the latter interacting with the rod is made from fluoroplastic and the outer surface interacting with the mating point in the cover and the fluoroplastic bush is made from rubber. The bush is mounted on the rod in the case cover between two metal, mainly steel rings, one of the rings, preferably both rings, is able of axial movement along the rod and is fixed in the specified position by a nut which is set on the rod in the case cover. The bush on which the rod wheel is set, is mounted in the bearing housing on thrust washers, preferably on coal plastic ones, located between the bearing housing and the end face of the case cover. The minimum clearance between the surfaces of the said rings and the mating elements of the bearing housing and the case cover end face is provided by the installation and fixation of bearings in the specified position on the said case cover. The upper part of the said bush is fitted by a cylinder with a groove in which the rod position indicator is installed with the possibility of axial movement corresponding to the axial movement of the rod. The mating connection points of the case are made as a hole and a protrusion with thread, preferably conical one, placed respectively in the input and output parts of the case.
