FIELD: refrigerating engineering; systems with air as cooling agent and oil as medium to be cooled. SUBSTANCE: recuperation cooler has at least one section consisting of heat exchange surface and distributing and collecting manifolds for one medium adjoining the surface at opposite sides. Each manifold has operating branch pipes to let in and out medium (oil). Novelty is that each manifold has circulating branch pipe, and entire cooler has at least one bypass line with control shutoff member connected by one end to distributing manifold of one of sections, and by other end, to collecting manifold of one of sections and in case of single-section and in case of single-section cooler, to the same section. Branch pipes communicate through connecting pipelines forming, together with manifolds and bypass lines, a part of closed circuit of preliminary circulation of medium provided with external heat source. EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability at reduced consumption of energy at repeated starting under low temperature conditions of surrounding medium. 9 cl, 10 dwg
