FIELD: metallurgy, applicable for production of thin slabs. SUBSTANCE: the method for continuous casting of peritectic steels containing carbon within 0.10 to 0.15%, and sometimes within 0.09 to 0.16% consists in casting of steels into an ingot mould with a taper of 2 to 8% per meter at least in its first section. The ingot mould is vibrated at a rate of 300 to 500 vibrations per minute with a stroke of +-2.5 to 4 mm up and down, with total stroke of 5 to 8 mm; the primary and secondary coolings are limited. EFFECT: reduced surface unevenness of ingots, reduced sensitiveness to cracks. 14 cl, 6 dwg
