FIELD: electrochemical treatment of water and aqueous solutions of salts for change of their oxidizing and reducing properties. SUBSTANCE: highly mineralized water at content of salts from 2 to 35% is fed to anode chamber of diaphragm electrolyzer; chlorine formed in anode chamber in the course of electrolysis is dissolved in alkaline water obtained through mixing catholyte and slightly mineralized water. Rarefaction is formed in cathode chamber by means of water-jet pump to ensure pressure differential on porous diaphragm separating the anode and cathode chambers. This pressure differential creates filtration flow of water anode chamber to cathode chamber, thus enhancing efficiency of separation of chlorine in anode chamber. Device used for realization of this method has flow-type diaphragm electrolyzer which consists of anode and cathode chambers separated by porous diaphragm, circulating loop connecting the outlet and inlet branch pipes of anode chamber; this branch pipe is connected with suction branch pipe of water-jet pump used for obtaining water with oxidizing properties. Outlet branch pipe of cathode chamber is connected with suction branch pipe of water-jet pump used for obtaining water with reducing properties. EFFECT: increased service life of anode coat; reduced corrosion attack of water possessing oxidizing properties; maximum use of chemical reagents (salts) dissolved in water. 3 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
