FIELD: polymer production. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to elastomer polymers containing aromatic rings and carbon-carbon double bonds, for example, polymers obtained from styrene and butadiene. In such case, polymer molecule contains double bonds in internal and terminal groups as well as multiple bonds in aromatic rings. According to invention, only multiple terminal and internal groups are hydrogenated which improve heat resistance and resistance to atmospheric effects. Hydrogenation is commonly carried out in presence of nickel and cobalt catalysts, however present invention demonstrates that catalytic complex metallocene/alumoxane not only catalyzes polymerization of olefin compounds but also catalyzes selective hydrogenation of unsaturated polymers, preferably styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymers. EFFECT: simplified production of saturated polymers. 14 cl, 3 tbl
