FIELD: testing of materials. SUBSTANCE: invention specifically refers to testing of sheet anisotropic material. Indenter penetrates tested material under various orientation of its major axis with reference to anisotropy axis of material, for instance, with reference to direction of rolling. Such characteristics of impact indentation as acceleration of indenter, time to change of acceleration sign, maximum penetration speed and energy of plastic deformation of material are registered. Device for implementation of process includes indenter with working part in the form of ellipse, rectangle, rhomb, etc, loading fixture and electronic sensing equipment. It has mechanism for orientation of indenter relative to anisotropy axis of material and clip.
