FIELD: forecast of earthquakes in seismic regions according to spatial-time variations of concentrated flow of mercury vapors from the Earth's crust into the atmosphere, which is the geometrical presage of earthquakes. SUBSTANCE: periodic registration of the presage of earthquakes in the given region of monitoring is accomplished; to this end, the rate of mercury flow in the soil gas ascending from the Earth's crest is registered at a depth of at least 1 m, and according to abnormal variation of the value in time, probability of earthquake is forecasted. EFFECT: enhanced truth and reliability of forecast. 2 cl, 3 dwg
