FIELD: shock excitation of seismic vibration for purposes of search for mineral resources. SUBSTANCE: invention is based on usage of energy of chopped artillery powder in the capacity of energy source. The source of seismic signals has mortar with blast chamber having conical inlet, supercaliber mine (plunger) with caliber tail part, passage of mechanism for insertion of charge with rotary cylindrical cock, charge of chopped artillery powder, baseplate, guiding gas-releasing enclosure and hose to supply charge. Source can be towed or self-propelled. For operation source is automatically lowered on ground with baseplate with the help of special mechanisms. After firing supercaliber mine (plunger) acquires velocity up to 10.0 m/s and jumps up to height of about 5.0 m in guiding gas-releasing enclosure. EFFECT: source displays increased degree of automation of loading process and capability of automation of charge formation, its mine has enlarged mass. 1 dwg
