FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of continuous production of molten foundry pig iron for its casting with compact graphite includes production of desulfurized molten pig iron; introduction of substances for regulation of carbon equivalent; transferring of molten pig iron into conditioning furnace in which amount of molten metal is maintained within preset limits for compensation of metal consumption; casting of molten metal into molds or ladles and from these ladles into molds; introduction of substances which modify graphite form and seeding substances; taking sample of molten metal before the casting or from molds with subsequent solidification of sample from state in which sample and vessel for its storage are in thermal equilibrium at temperature above crystallization point, with registration of temperature change of molten metal in center of sample, and in immediate vicinity of vessel wall. Then registered changes of temperature are used for determination of structural properties and metal carbon equivalent by the known method. When determined carbon equivalent and structural properties of metal castings deviate from the known properties of metal with compact graphite, subject to regulation in bath of desulfurized metal are amount of introduced substance regulating graphitization potential, or amount of introduced, or removed substance modifying the graphite form in bath of desulfurized molten metal, or in furnace of conditioning, or amount of introduced seeding substance in preset relation with detected deviation. EFFECT: provision of continuous production of pig iron with compact graphite possessing the desired properties due to improved continuous control of properties of made product in the course of its production. 13 cl, 4 dwg, 2 ex
