FIELD: plastic working of materials, mainly of metals, particularly by extrusion for making, for example, blanks for subsequent deformation and(or) mechanical working, different-designation articles with normalized change of structure and properties of material for hardening it due to formation of micro- and subcrystalline structure. SUBSTANCE: method for deformation working of materials comprises steps of placing material in first duct of apparatus for deformation working, applying effort for moving material to second duct in order to deform it by angular extrusion in zone of duct crossing and removing blank. When material passes through second duct it is additionally deformed for changing cross section of blank that it is removed after releasing its ends. Material may be deformed in second duct by pressing out at reducing cross section of blank; material may be deformed by upsetting; material may be deformed by pressing out with subsequent upsetting; material may be additionally deformed by upsetting in first duct; article may be shaped in second duct or it may be deformed with use of technological inserts. Apparatus for performing the method includes punch, die with movable and stationary parts forming first and second ducts whose lengthwise axes are inclined one relative to another. Wall of first duct in zone (whose length is no less than B) arranged opposite second duct is formed by stationary part of die, B- maximum size of second duct along its height in section equidistant relative to said wall. Movable part of die is arranged with possibility of motion before and after deformation. Second duct has length-variable cross section. Second duct may be narrowed if first duct is widened; apparatus may be provided with device for removing blank from second duct or apparatus may have technological inserts.
