FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: honing head may be used when honing cylindrical holes in parts made of materials difficult to work. Honing head is provided with disc springs positioned on body. Bar holders with abrasive bars are made in the form of helical cylindrical compression spring. At least two bar holders are used. They are positioned at an angle to head generating line. Relation of abrasive bar width to that of bar holder is at least 2/3. Bar holders are pressed to each other with their end faces by means of disc springs. Sectors-pushers engage bar holders by linear contact and two projections which represent semicircumference in section. They are made on the inside of bar holders along their entire length. Honing head is provided with enlarged operating cutting surface and increased number of cutting grains. It enhances efficiency and accuracy of working due to improved removal of ships. EFFECT: improved accuracy and quality of holes. 4 cl
